Ah yes I do love the IC. I think it is a great place ... and am constantly amazed to see students in there so late at night. Allows for all kinds of study patterns...
A good refuge for them too I am sure.

Luscious...does that mean you like it, then? I'm collecting interesting adjectives about the IC, and "luscious" is right up there with "google-esque" (from a student) and now "facebooky". It's great to see the IC inspring creativity among students. Chris S and I met the director of IC Girls and congratulated him on the editing!

Martin Lewis
Director of Library Services & University Librarian

good idea Jackie .... yes I joined that mad group Sheila. I think it is hilarious ... it started so quickly after the IC opened too .... really great undergraduate humour!

there is something kind of facebooky about the IC ... all that leakage of one type of space into another ... those permeable boundaries and witnot. This may be what web 2.o living is all about. Life as metaphor.

Yes, I'd already circulated this round the Information Studies deot to great amusement! You probably know about the student facebook groups about he IC too - such as "procrastination in the ic"? Perhaps it's become a focus of web 2.0/social networking because people do quite a lot of social networking *in* it?
